NuPEERS2027 is an evolution of NuPEERS2024 that was held at Dillard University. It is organized in collaboration between Promoting Opportunities for the Next Generation,  Universities Research Association (URA) Inc., and Dillard University.

 

Nuclear Physics Experience for Emerging Researchers and Scientists (NuPEERS) is a two-week immersive summer school on basic and applied nuclear science to be held on May 16-29, 2027. Designed for students exploring physics and related disciplines, it combines foundational instruction with experimental learning via a series of expert-led lectures, interactive experiments and problem-solving. In addition, NuPEERS offers engagement with researchers, national laboratory and industry professionals, and peer mentoring to gain a deep understanding of real-world applications and pathways across the scientific workforce. NuPEERS2027 will convene 24 selected students and serve to build knowledge and confidence prior to their summer research experiences: it opens the gateway to sustained mentorship, research, and professional development to strengthen the next generation of scientists and expand the nuclear science workforce.
